Meet David
Dear Friends-
With great enthusiasm, I am running for another term as Ward 8, City Councilor at-Large. This year’s race is highly competitive so I need your support more than ever. Whether it’s making a donation, requesting a yard sign, hosting a coffee – or all three – your involvement would mean so much to me.
As a lifelong resident of Newton, I’ve been honored to serve our community for 14 years, always leading with pragmatism, compassion, and transparency. My 30 years of business experience combined with my City Council experience give me a unique ability to focus conversation, synthesize diverse arguments, and drive for practical results. I’ve twice been elected to Vice President of the Council and have led teams in the private sector, managing multimillion dollar budgets and making tough decisions that balance present needs with future goals. In my next term. I will continue focusing on:
- Constituent Services – being reachable, responsive, and helpful to residents
- Strong Advocacy for Schools – prioritizing students and educators
- Climate Leadership - supporting Newton’s Climate Action Plan
- Investing in Infrastructure – including schools, the Senior Center, police station, and roads
- Affordable Housing Solutions – through Accessory Dwelling Units, Inclusionary Zoning, and zoning that preserve existing homes
People often ask me why I run for office – and its certainly not for fame or fortune. The reasons are simple but meaningful to me: I’m driven to give back to the community that has given me so much; I find real purpose in helping fellow residents navigate local government; and I enjoy the challenge that comes with working with the administration, 23 other Councilors, and the public to move our City forward.
Once again, I would be deeply grateful for your support in whatever form feels right for you. I can’t do this alone and I hope to earn your vote on November 4, 2025!
